StaticForm vs Getform / Forminit
Getform became Forminit in January 2026 and the product has grown well beyond a basic POST endpoint. We followed the renamed service through its current documentation, plan rules, form-block model, integrations, upload path, and data policy. Forminit has a capable lead-management inbox; StaticForm puts more delivery control on a lower, unmetered plan.
What using Getform / Forminit actually involves
Forminit is one of the closer matches to StaticForm in this list. Both create dedicated endpoints, validate on the server, retain an inbox, and run actions. The meaningful differences are its structured field convention, stronger free uploads, plan quotas, and feature placement.
Getform is now Forminit, but it is the same service
The company renamed Getform.io to Forminit in January 2026 after operating since 2015. Existing users are not comparing a separate replacement product. The current app, documentation, endpoints, pricing, and branding live under forminit.com, so this review uses the new name while preserving the old search term.
A form starts with a unique ID and explicit field blocks
You create a form, choose public endpoint access for a browser form, then submit to its unique endpoint or use the small JavaScript SDK. Forminit does not treat every arbitrary field as an untyped string. Names such as fi-sender-email, fi-text-message, and fi-file-resume map values into documented block types with server-side validation and consistent dashboard formatting.
The dashboard is closer to a lightweight lead inbox
Submissions can be searched, filtered, starred, assigned a status, annotated with internal notes, and exported. The product also records UTM parameters, ad click sources, location, device information, and response analytics on paid plans. This is more opinionated than a simple email relay and can be useful for teams that triage leads inside the form product.
Actions are strong, but plan placement matters
Free includes notification email and redirects. Pro adds signed webhooks, Slack, Discord, Google Sheets, Zapier, CSV export, the REST API, and analytics. Business is required for autoresponders, workspaces, a custom SMTP sender, and removing Forminit branding. Notification messages have editable recipients, CC, BCC, reply-to, subject variables, and a WYSIWYG body editor.
Uploads are a real strength
File fields work directly with multipart/form-data. Forminit documents a 25 MB total limit per submission, more than 50 MIME types, up to 20 file blocks, and direct dashboard download links. The free plan includes 100 MB of storage, Pro 1 GB, Business 5 GB, and Volume 10 GB.
The plan limit pauses every form
Free allows 100 submissions and one form. Pro allows 5,000 submissions and five forms, Business 10,000 and fifteen forms, while Volume raises submissions to 50,000 and removes the form limit. When an account hits its plan limit, Forminit says its forms are automatically paused until the owner upgrades.
A lead-management inbox or a delivery-control panel?
Forminit is opinionated about the shape of a submission. Its blocks turn fields into known sender, email, phone, URL, text, and file types. That improves validation, formatting, variables, and analytics, but it asks developers to adopt the fi-type-name convention. StaticForm accepts ordinary field names and lets the dashboard define validation rules independently.
Forminit has the richer native inbox for sales-style triage. Stars, statuses, notes, full-text search, field filters, UTM tracking, ad identifiers, device details, and analytics make it viable as a small lead queue. StaticForm keeps the submission view focused on values, spam state, action results, and operational troubleshooting.
The action comparison splits cleanly. Forminit signs webhook deliveries with HMAC, retries them, alerts on failure, and provides logs, which are all strong engineering choices. StaticForm adds editable webhook bodies and headers plus manual retry from the exact failed execution. Forminit has more named notification destinations; StaticForm offers conditional actions and custom email sending on lower plans.
Both services state that submission data is hosted in EU AWS regions and both offer a DPA. The purchase decision is therefore less about data geography than volume and workflow. Forminit pauses forms at the submission limit. StaticForm accepts unlimited submissions and meters outgoing email work instead.
